Film #175: NANOOK OF THE NORTH (1922)

This film was made by Robert Joseph Flaherty who was considered to be the father of documentary. And this was the first documentary he created. It's about the life of Nanook who is an eskimo and shows how he lives and survives the conditions that he lives in. It's a very fasinating watch to see how Nanook takes care of his family over the winter and how they all live their lives. It is called a docudrama as at the time documentary and drama were not seperate genres.
